What motivated you to join this year's 3 Shots Film Fest?

We were motivated by our strong desire to share a tragic story through this short film in hopes of evoking strong emotions from the audience and open conversations about the home that most call "family". Not only that, but we also wanted to prove that 3 simple shots in a film can go a long way.

Tell us what inspired you to create this film?

My personal life inspired me as I used this film as an outlet to evaluate my perspective on family--Imperfect. I made this film in hopes that through the visualization of my thoughts and encapsulation of emotion, I would take a step closer to gaining peace of mind and accepting my mother's death.

Share the challenges you have encountered and the learnings you discovered given the limitations.

We saw the 3-shot limitation as a way to be more creative. With this, we learned about the importance of not only emotional-dialogue storytelling but using objects and actions as well. We choreographed the characters' blockings for better focus shifts throughout the dialogue-heavy scenes. Overall, we learned the importance of creating meaning in each cut, as this affects how stories are told.
