What motivated you to join this year's 3 Shots Film Fest?
I am a risk-taker myself. It's either I take the risk or lose the chance. I promise to make at least 1 short film every year and I haven't made one for 2022. This is a last-minute decision since I decided a week before the deadline, and how I could tell a story in just 3 shots.
Tell us what inspired you to create this film?
The inspiration was basically about a shadow puppet play in the provinces during the late 70s to 80s, held either in a remote plaza or by the shore. Added in a typical story but spiced it up with some untypical storytelling approach. Also, I want to preserve the classic Bisaya language.
Share the challenges you have encountered and the learnings you discovered given the limitations.
It was difficult to find a 1970s bario in the City so I had to go a bit further and controlled environment. During the production, there were delays with time. so I had to start shooting at dawn until sunrise. Most scenes were night so it was difficult to manage time catching up with the sun. The dog also tried to eat my camera while rolling and playing with my actors. Almost gave me a headache.
