Director's Statement
I believe that every story matters and we have these urges to tell stories right now. Indeed, the challenge of creating film that has its unique approach (three shots) that I want to try is a challenge to my visions in creating stories far from what we used to do especially in time of pandemic.
Paghibi sang Langit is a tribute to reflect from what we have lost. Based from the stories (mystery, folktales and relevant social issues) of our town and its famous river. An exploration of how we were affected with the global pandemic and climate crisis -- inspired to tell local stories.
Paghibi sang Langit is a call for action about the constant flood in the town, the activities that destroy the environment, and how the townfolks had their battles to survive (left with no choice), we're being drowned with the social issues, and of our grid and dreams.
